Biography:
Étienne Charles Le Guay is the son of Étienne Henri Leguay, painter on porcelain.
He studied drawing at the Sèvres factory and then continued at the Royal Academy with Joseph-Marie Vien.
Married three times, notably to Marie-Victoire Jaquotot who was first his pupil and eventually became a very famous miniaturist herself. The couple is witness to the marriage of Christophe Dihl with Mrs. widow Guérhard, at this time, Étienne-Charles has already worked successfully for several years for the porcelain factory Dihl and Guérhard.
