NIMAIDÔ TOSEI GUSOKU. Japan, late Edo period. Complete armor, with kittsukozane blades assembled in kebiki-odoshi by purple and white braids, the hishinui (border braces) orange. It includes: . Suji-bashi kabuto type helmet with twenty brown lacquered plates, enhanced with two golden plates with stylized clouds, one at the front, the other at the back, bearing three and two shinodare respectively; the five-tier tehen kanamono ; with four-bladed shikoro, the upper one enhanced with ornamental kanamono in gilded copper, two large double fukigaeshi ending the last two blades, covered with leather like the mabezashi visor, underlined by a fukurin ; at the front, gold lacquered wooden maedate, with a shishi and kuwagata; brown lacquered iron menpo of ressei type with a large moustache, the five-bladed yodarekake completed by a two-bladed gorgerin; doh breastplate with eight-sided kusazuri; . Shoulder pads sode with seven plates, the last one made of kanmuri-ita, underlined by a golden fukurin; Sleeves kote made of iron mesh reinforced with small ikada plates; Thigh guards of iyo-haidate type, made of small brown lacquered plates, decorated with a red lacquered hi-no-maru, mounted on textile; Leggings of tsubo-suneate type With a blackened wooden carrying case, decorated with a paulownia Mon.
