PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG WOMAN WITH NECK RUFF Oil on wood. Parquet. 65 x 50 cm. Inscribed on the top left "AETATIS * 32", on the top right also family coat of arms. In gilded frame. In front of brown background half-length portrait of a young woman to the left in black dress with narrow tight waist, bulging sleeves and a white upturned ruff, under it a double row pearl necklace. She is dressed entirely in the style of 16th century Spanish fashion. She has brown hair, wears a black headdress on it and with her dark eyes she looks out of the picture with dignity. The sitter is shown at the age of 32, which is indicated by the inscription on the upper left edge. There is also a coat of arms, probably that of the family, on the upper right edge, framed by a palm leaf and a branch, tied together with a red ribbon. Fine representative image. (13511226) (18)
