Fine copy. Rare Venetian figured edition. The work of Theocritus is translated into Latin by Andrea Divo, erudite scholar from Koper, who dedicates the book to Ottonello Vida, Vergerio's secretary. The versions by Divo, who collaborated with Borgofranco between 1537 and 1539 translating Homer, Aristophanes and finally this Theocritus, were very successful and were later republished in Lyon, Paris, Basel and Bern.Rava, Suppl. à Max Sander, 7235 bis.
