Miniaturist, perhaps a student of ISABEY, exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1822, 1824 and 1833. Oval miniature portrait, signed lower left J. Parent, of Louise Joséphine MÉLITE de SALPERWICK (1799-1821). Inlaid on the lid of a round brown tortoiseshell box in a gold frame. Height : 7,5 cm - Width : 5,7 cm Box: Height: 2 cm - Diameter: 8,5 cm - Gross weight: 107,51 g Louise Joséphine MÉLITE de SALPERWICK (Celle, 1799-Versailles, 1821), daughter of Eugène, marquis of SALPERWICK and GRIGNY (1765-1851) and of Antoinette de VIDARD de SAINT CLAIR (1769-1803). She married, on April 28, 1819 in Versailles, Marie Amable CADIER, baron de VEAUCE (1786-1834), squadron leader at the staff of the National Guard of Paris, knight of the Royal Order of the Legion of Honor, son of André CADIER, baron de VEAUCE (1749-1794) and Bénigne PERROTIN de BARMOND (1762-1791). They had two children, Charles (1820-1884) and Marie Agathe (1821-1837). Descendants in the families of CADIER de VEAUCE, CHAMPAGNE, de CHASTENET de PUYSÉGUR, MARTY, THOUANEL, etc. (the family of SALPERWICK is now extinct).
