Frederick CRUICKSHANK (Angleterre, 1800-1868) Lot n° 14

Oval miniature portrait, unsigned, representing a young woman in three-quarter bust to the right, head turned to the left, in white dress and red jacket, on a blue sky background, encircled with gilt bronze, in a rectangular blackened wood frame. Around 1840. On the back the original miniaturist's label inscribed F. Cruickshank /4Jermyn Street, captioned later comes from Schidlof, antique dealer, purchased in 1941. Miniature: Height: 10 cm - Width: 8.5 cm Provenance: Leo R. SCHIDLOF (1886-1966). Bought in 1941, then private collection.
