Exceptional German wheelgun in 36 rounds to the pound (13 mm), long octagonal and then round barrel 305 mm long, slightly flared muzzle, for an overall length of the weapon of 500 mm. The flat of the barrel carries two beautiful punches of which the pine cone of Augsburg. Very nice flat side frame extending to the wooden muzzle dressed with a horn veneer and bone inlays engraved with various motifs (helmeted warrior in the antique style, frieze of ropes or repetitive motifs). Decorated with allegories of seahorses on the counter plate. Ball knob slightly flattened with a decoration of alternating bands of engraved bone and horn quarters decorated in the center of round macaroons with floral motifs, the bottom of the knob represents a flower bloomed. Flat-body lock, safety blocking the rotation of the wheel, automatic opening basin cover, flat hammer engraved with a dog's head, three-sided trigger guard, straight trigger. Dark wood ramrod with threaded iron tip for the barrel pull camouflaged at the base of the ramrod. Functional mechanism. Very slight restoration with dark shellac at the level of the back screw of the counterplate. Finely restored weapon in an exceptional state of freshness for a weapon of this age. South Germany, last third of the 16th century. Weight : 1718 g A powder flask (one side flat) made of iron plate is attached to this pistol. It is extended by a flat screwdriver and four square machinings allowing the cocking of the wheel. Spout with spring, some holes on the powder flask. A rectangular housing carries a pin aimed. Condition 1-
