Sitting dog on a leash Exceptional terracotta sculpture signed and dated O. Buccini f. 1869
H. 42,5 cm (restorations, rests on a blackened wooden base)
Our sculpture is not without reminding the famous works of terracotta executed by Claude Michel, known as Clodion (1738-1814), in memory of the dogs of company. In particular the Mausoleum of Ninette, commissioned for the Bergeret de Grandcourt family, preserved in Nancy at the Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine and Monument for a dog, probably the tomb project of the griffon dog of Madame Du Barry, presented in the collections of the Carnavalet museum in Paris.
