Oil on panel signed and dated 1807 lower right (in an old Louis XVI style gilded wooden frame). Considered as a landscape precursor of the Barbizon school, he painted scenes of the forest of Fontainebleau "after nature". Louis XVI, who went there to hunt, even said "I only met Bruandet and wild boars while crossing the forest".
