ROUND SIDE-TABLE
Louis XVI, Paris, 18th century and later. In the style of Adam Weisweiler.
Mahogany and flamed mahogany, molded and inlaid with dark fillets. Round top, edged with brass, and inlaid with inlays and black fillets. Fluted conical legs connected by an X-shaped stretcher, on castors.
Ø 77 cm, H 71 cm.
Later modifications to the top and probably to the frame.
The table on offer is reminiscent of the so-called "tables à thé" by Adam Weisweiler, which also had a central shaft and a pull-out round tray integrated in the center of the top. Cf. Maurice Segoura, Weisweiler, Paris, 1983, p. 94.
