Unique copy belonging to a set reserved for the artist Jean Edelmann and specially bound for him.
This copy was given by Edelmann to the bookbinder Robert Géry as a token of his thanks (as specified in the mailing on the false title page); he encloses 5 signed sketches of his original lithographs as well as the first of the two proofs from lithograph number 7. He also encloses the first version of the departure of the Eglogue 8 (refused plate) and a handwritten letter from Maurice Fombeure constituting the draft of the end of the preface written by him for these Eglogues.
Our copy is embellished with a suite of engravings on Rive, bound at the end of the book.
