Jean-Urbain Guérin, draftsman, painter and miniaturist, born in Kehl in 1761.
Protected by the marshal of Contades, he left very young for the capital and did his apprenticeship in the workshop of David.
Along with Jean-Baptiste Isabey and Jacques Augustin, he was one of the most renowned miniaturists of the early 19th century.
