Charpentier, 15 May 1950, N°8 (?) according to a label on the back of the frame.
The scene is at the Palais Royal. From left to right, the Duke of Chartres (Louis-Philippe d'Orléans, later Philippe
Égalité) enters the room. Then, we can see Louis-Phillipe d'Orléans as a child (the future king Louis-Phillipe) and
on the sofa, his mother, Marie-Adélaïde de Bourbon, holding the little Antoine-Philippe d'Orléans.
Engraved by Augustin de Saint-Aubin and Herman in 1779 (dedicated to the duke and duchess of Chartres).
A copy of this painting by Cibot is kept at the Palace of Versailles, commissioned by Louis-Philippe for the
historical museum of Versailles in 1835, (Copy of the painting of C. Lepeintre then preserved in the Royal Palace).
