JOHN KING MEMORABILIA

- A miniature portrait by Alfred Edward Chalon (1780-1860) representing John King in the uniform of an officer of the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars, pasted on paper. Inscription on the back: "Painted by Alfred Edward CHALON RA London". In a gilt brass frame, enclosed in a dark brown leather case with red velvet interior. England, London, ca. 1830.

- A man's kit including a cigarette case, a notebook and mechanical pencil holder and a part of a pyrogen; all in silver and black leather bearing the monogram of John King. By Leuchars & Sons. In a black leather case monogrammed J.K. Second half of the 19th century.
- A silver cigar case of spindle shape, engraved coat of arms of the de Noé family and engraved inscription: "to John King his friend the Baron de Noé, Sylvio, Steeple chase March 14, 1844". Can contain up to six cigars. Big guarantee hallmark; master goldsmith Jules Coquelin (inscription in 1830).

John King was a former officer of the 8th Royal Irish Hussars who, according to family memory, went into exile from the United Kingdom following a love affair with a maid of honor of Queen Victoria. He then settled in Rosnay in the Indre region of France in a property from which these memories come.
