The female silhouette was the main theme of this sculptor of Italian origin who called himself
himself as "architect of sensuality". In a syncretism drawing as much in
classical references of the Aphrodite of classical Greece as in the modernity of the
simplified model of Maillol, Antoniucci Volti proposes figures all in roundness to the
architectural stability. The audacity in the diversity of the poses of his bronze subjects with brown patina
quickly seduced the public. Thanks to his success, Volti was truly recognized during his lifetime
of his life and his damsels flourish on the squares of many cities of France including
Paris and Angers. Very sought after on the market, his bronzes still know today a
craze that has not been denied.
