Herbi Poli [Wurtzbürg]: Quirini Heyl, 1685 - 1686. The first two parts (out of three) in one volume in-4. Full vellum, eighteenth century, split at bottom of first spine. Engraved title page, without the portrait. The first part contains a folding table, 23 copper engravings and 47 woodcuts in text. The second part contains 5 folding tables, one folding engraved plate, 19 copperplate figures (titled iconismus I-XX, figure XI is non-existent in this edition). A tear on page 33 without missing, a paper shortage on the lower corner of page 160, without missing text. The first part has some foxing and browning, the second part the paper is heavily browned, without altering the reading. ORIGINAL EDITION of this rare treatise on optics which deals with telescopes and instruments.
