Michel VU (born in 1941) Suite of two paintings that can form pendants: Woman in haïk observing the sea c. 1975 Mixed media on canvas stretched over wood panel, signed upper left 46 x 37 cm Canvas slightly distended Woman in haïk in a landscape c. 1975 Mixed media on canvas stretched over wood panel, signed lower right 37 x 46 cm Born in Paris in 1941, Michel Vu is the son of the famous Vietnamese painter and sculptor Vu Cao Dam. He has lived in Paris, Vence, Saint-Paul de Vence, Majorca and Essaouira. He studied art at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Nice. In 1974, he moved to Ghazoua, near Essaouira in Morocco, a place that will continue to inspire him.
