Oil on oak panel, on the back the mark of the panelist Guilliam GABRON in Antwerp active between 1609 and 1662: double capital G with a four-lobed flower in the center.

Provenance: The abbot Joseph Thiébaud 1884 then by bequest to Marthe Lesterlin and by descent to the present owner.
The images of piety surrounded by garlands of flowers were very popular in the first half of the 17th century, initiated by Brueghel de Velours and Daniël Seghers. Many of them were composed by two hands in the Antwerp workshops.
