Cup; Bolivia or Peru 18th century. Silver. No silversmith marks. Measurements: 9 x 12 x 8,5 cm. Weight: 226 grams. Silver cup with a flared body towards the outside. The ornamentation is based on the reinforcements on the base and the lips, the faceted body and the intermediate fretwork in the form of crescent moons, as well as the handle with stylised plant motifs in relief. Novo-Hispanic craftsmanship would reach very high levels of finesse and quality worthy of European works. Western tradition was combined with the cultural roots and inheritance of the places of work where the craftsmen displayed great talent both in the execution of their work and in the creation of particularly novel and original models and decorations.
