1981 LANCIA BETA MONTECARLO
Serial number : 5172
French registration
Less than 30 000 original kilometers
In order to complete the offer of the Beta sedan, the Fiat group decided to launch a coupe version for the Lancia brand. This small sports car will appear on the market from 1975 and will be called Montecarlo in homage to the victories of the Italian brand in rally. From then on, the recipe was simple: a design signed by Pininfarina, an evolution of the 4-cylinder 2.0L Fiat engine with two camshafts in the middle position and the whole thing resting on a tubular chassis. The car is so efficient that it allows the Lancia brand to win two manufacturers' titles in the 2.0L category. These titles were acquired during the 6H of Brands Hatch in 1980, Mugello in 1980 and Watkins Glen in 1980 and 1981. Produced in just under 7,600 examples, the Beta Montecarlo is today one of the most popular Italian coupés among collectors.
Our example is very interesting as it has less than 30,000 original kilometers. Invoices have accompanied it since its purchase. The owner claims that the car has always slept dry and out of the sun. The condition of the black plastic bumpers and the dashboard confirm this. The mechanics of the car are running normally. The current owner leaves a list of things he has reviewed on the car since the acquisition in 2019. The body is healthy and the technical control is almost clean. This example is one of the best opportunities on the market.
