Les Amours pastorales de Daphnis et Chloé. Translation by Jacques Amyot and notes by Antoine Lancelot. S. l. [Paris], 1745. Large in-12, red morocco, fillets and wide gilt lace with small irons "à l'oiseau" framing the boards, smooth spine decorated, green morocco title page, gilt edges (period binding). A title-frontispiece engraved by Benoît AUDRAN after Antoine COYPEL (dated 1718) and 29 out-of-text figures, of which 28 by AUDRAN after Philippus (alias PHILIPPE d'ORLÉANS), and one (the last one called "aux petits pieds"). Cohen, 652 (with "the same figures as in the 1718 edition"). Edition decorated with the same figures as the 1718 edition, whose date remains on the frontispiece. Leatherette slightly faded; head cover rubbed; leaves slightly foxed and curled and accident restored on the last three leaves, but EXAMPLE in LACE MAROQUIN of this edition illustrated by the Regent.
