Helmet of rifleman troop model 1856. Hammer stamped brass helmet, marked "DELACHAUSSEE", date of receipt "1856", serial number "1372", slight wear, topped by a crest with wings underlined by a frieze of acanthus leaves and stamped with a branch of laurel embellished by its large red hair caterpillar. Tin band bordered by two nets bearing the brass attribute with the flaming grenade framed by palms. Visor and neck cover in brass edged with a nickel silver ring, inner lining in green waxed basane for the visor and black for the neck cover. Chinstraps model, with curbets, on radiating iron rosettes with brass star (missing a star). Inside leather cap with 9 wolf teeth. 2nd EMPIRE. DELACHAUSSEE" supplier of military equipment, helmets, breastplates from 1855 to 1870.
