We have the pleasure to present one of these brilliant racing machines. According to Alain GAILLARD's excellent book "DB 1932-1962, Les automobiles de Charles DEUTSCH et René BONNET" this car with chassis number 789 is part of a series of nine barquettes called "LE MANS 53". It is in this same series that the n° 784 and 785 are placed 17th and 19th in the general classification of the 24h 1953 while signing a great number of other successes during the seasons 1953 and 1954. DB # 789 is precisely the "1954 Modified Antem" type and was delivered new on January 27, 1954 to FRENCH MOTORS INC. in LOS ANGELES. It then participated in several SCCA races during the year and notably won its class at the AUSTIN race in March 1954 in the hands of François CROUZET. In September, this same driver finished 8th overall at TORREY PINES.
A CD of the car's history is attached.
