Containing: 1° Large letters, and the ba, be, bi, bo, bu; 2° Words of one, two, three, four, five and six syllables, all well divided; 3° Small instructive sentences, divided to make it easier for children to spell, all in very large characters; 4° A small table suitable for teaching children, while reading, the names and uses of the main trades useful to men in society, ending with small compliments in verse, within the reach of children of the first age. Frontispiece [construction workers], title [remover angel] and four plates of six illustrated letters very nicely engraved. Pages of alphabetical boxes, alphabets, syllabaries, small phrases and alphabet of trades, with a text of one to two pages per profession. From Artificer to Basket maker, no trade for X, Y, Z. Tales and compliments complete the book. Small rubs from use to the cardboard and some foxing.
