English and French jewel alphabet. No address, no place, no date. [France. ca. 1830]. 23/25 cards (8.5 x 6 cm) lithographed and hand-colored with stencil, mute backs. Rare set of cards forming a lithographed and stenciled military primer. A title card with the Z, Zêle/Zeal and all the cards on the same model entirely lithographed, initial of printing in head, illustration in an outside scene in the center and legend in foot, in cursive writing, in French and in English. The captions follow the French alphabet. Very fine realistic engravings, A, Ambulance/Wounded Soldiers, K, Kourka/Polish Jacket, etc. Interesting historical testimony, very well preserved colors. Without maps D and O and small lack at the head of map E.
