Followed by Elemens d'Arithmétique. At Belin-Le Prieur, Bookseller, rue Pavée St André des Arts, N° 3. In Paris. Printed by Comynet, in Avallon. 1829. In-12 (17 x 10,5 cm). Engraved and colored title, 84 pp. 7 engraved and colored plates : full mauve-colored percaline, green chagrin label, on the first plate, stamped in gold with the inscription : "To their friend Elzéar Fournier P. and A. C. August 25, 1843." (Vintage binding).
Reissue of a work published in 1806 where the engravings were signed Adolphe Rœhn, engraved by Bigant.
Layout and typography much more elegant. Paper of the plates of better quality. The frontispiece is no longer included, but an engraved and colored title is added.
Beginning with alphabets, syllabaries, twenty progressive lessons, it ends with short texts of first readings, all with religious subjects, and seven pages of arithmetic. Three fine engravings, separated into illustrated boxes with the initial, and four plates of two engravings depicting biblical subjects, all equally colored, complete the work.
Faint foxing on the text pages.
