Primer in prints.
J. Langlumé and Peltier Booksellers. Rue du Foin St Jacques n° 11. [Paris. ca. 1840]. In-16 oblong (11 x 16,2 cm). Frontispiece, (74) pp, (25) engraved plates : blond marbled basane, cold fillet on the boards, renewed spine of havana calf decorated with gilt fillets, red calf title-piece (later binding).
Alphabet illustrated with engraved plates showing small trades.
Copy identical to the one published by Bellavoine & Lecerf at the beginning of the 19th century [n° 13] with some variations. "Kairmesse" corrected, Wood sawyer in title instead of Savetier (same text), Vinaigrier instead of Marchand de vinaigre and, to keep the same number of pages, two fables have been added at the end of the book : Le Singe et le renard and Le Chat et la lunette.
The attractive engravings are not colored, but this copy on the small trades of Paris remains unusual and very well preserved, two small restorations in the margin of the last leaf.
