Rare bilingual French-German alphabet book, entirely engraved, stenciled and hand-colored and enhanced with gum arabic.
An illustrated title page and twenty-six brightly colored engravings (no J and one composition without initial). Two images per page bearing the initial in black and a caption, in French and German, in Gothic script. The translation does not always correspond so that the sentence begins with the right letter. A page of gothic alphabet and a page of multiplication at the end of the alphabet book.
No other copies referenced in libraries.
Preserved in its fragile publisher's illustrated paper cover which has two small chips at the bottom corners and some rubbing on the spine.
