- Former Peter Vischer collection, stamped in the upper left corner of the mount (L. 2115).
This drawing was inspired by La Hyre's engraving of Saint Peter (see P. Rosenberg and J. Thuillier, Laurent de la Hyre, l'homme et l'œuvre, Grenoble-Rennes-Bordeaux, Skira, 1988, p. 190, fig. 125(1) and 125(2), reproduced).
