This drawing could be the one mentioned by Jacques Thuillier (see Jacques Thuillier, Jacques Stella 1596-1657, Tresque, Editions Serge Domini, 2006, n° 14, p. 268 not reproduced), coming from the Paignon-Dijonval collection. It was part of an album of 15 sheets given to the master called "Des figures prises au naturel". The genre drawings from the notebook were classified in the collection by Paignon-Dijonval as by Bouzonnet-Stella. Only the blind violinist was given to Jacques Stella.
