Important vase ''orange verl(aufend) Phänomen Gre 436'' Franz Hofstötter (form and decor design), Loetz Witwe, Klostermühle, for the World Exhibition in Paris 1900 Colorless glass, gradient salmon pink underlay. Below the mouth relief spun with silver-yellow threads. In the lower part of the wall spun around with green-blue threads, above vertical threads formed into thicker stems in green and silver-yellow. On the front side sun and light reflections in the water in silver-yellow. Reduced and iridescent. Signed in engraving ''Loetz Austria'' on the underside. H. 26 cm. Lit.: Ricke/Vlcek, Lötz Bohemian Glass Vol. II, p. 96 , No. 436 (form); Ricke/Vlcek, Lötz Bohemian Glass Vol. I, p. 130 , No. 101 as well as Mergl/Ploil/Ricke, Lötz Bohemian Glass 1880 to 1940, p. 106, No. 51 as well as (form and decor). The production of this glass turned out to be a special challenge and was reserved for the most experienced glassmaker, Karl Alferi. Our vase was exhibited in 1992/93 in the Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, USA as well as in 2009 in the Museum in Kasperské Hory as a part of the exhibition ''LOETZ SERIE II''. Our vase was also featured as the cover of the Christie's catalog of the art auction on November 12, 1989, and was also featured in the auction review ''Christie's Review of the Season 1990'' on page 454.
