Important couple of Bambara statuette realized in a remarkable style alternating between elegant curves and sharp edges. Inscribed in an ovoid head, the high forehead and cheeks are marked with several scarifications. The eyes appear pierced at the top of a flat face separated in two by a narrow nose. A discreet line draws the mouth. While the female figure is adorned with a spectacular openwork hairstyle falling backwards, the male figure has a hairless skull. Supporting a cylindrical neck, the shoulders form a circular arc. The female chest is generous, while that of her husband is marked by two small dots in slight relief. The angled arms are extended by pallet-shaped hands. Both abdomens are rounded, although the female figure's is even more so and has scarifications that draw broken lines. The splayed legs are supported by particularly wide feet.
