Attached: To volume 1: - A correspondence exchanged with the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the French Republic in Austria, namely 2 L.D.S. from Vasseur and 1 L.D.S. from Pierre Moisy, cultural advisor in Vienna (September 10, 1959), informing A. Vasseur that he has found nothing in Vienna concerning the journal and that he is continuing his research in Budapest (Vasseur has misplaced a second letter from Moisy, informing him that his research in Budapest had yielded nothing); - 1 article from Le Figaro (March 16, 1946); - 3 L.A.S. and 4 L.D.S. from Paul Delbouille (University of Liège, 1969-1970); - La Bibliographie critique des œuvres de Benjamin Constant (by Gustave Rudler, Librairie Armand Colin, 1909); In volume 10: - 1 printed note from the bookseller Edouard Loewy on "the problem of the second edition of Adolphe and its solution"; - 1 portrait of Benjamin Constant, deputy of the Sarthe (1821), on page 160 (this portrait is rare); - 1 L.A.S. from Simone Balayé (January 1968), curator at the B.N. about the publication of Adolphe in Le Nouvelliste français. This journal published many excerpts from works published in France or abroad, but it is written entirely in French. There are interesting texts on America, slavery, Napoleon I, Louis XVIII, morals, the Russian campaign, the Spanish campaign, tobacco, etc., as well as articles and poems by Mme de Genlis and Mme de Staël. Let's also mention André Chénier's pre-original : " Élégie d'une jeune prisonnière " (La Jeune captive). Adolphe by Benjamin Constant was published in its entirety in 1816 (Tome 10: issue 14 to 16 of 1816), the date of the original appearing in London and Paris simultaneously in the second half of July 1816.
