Man Ray attended the "Chatoiement" review, he reported on it and took pictures of the Valse Bleue. He was inspired by the photos and made drawings of them. Man Ray entrusted his drawings to Paul Eluard so that he could illustrate them. The process was reversed, it was not the drawing that illustrated the words but the words that illustrated the drawing. From these collaborations, was born the collection: "Les Mains libres" published in 1937. One found there the poem "the Ball Tabarin"...
