Lobi statue, Burkina Faso Wood with red patina H. 26 cm Beautiful example of the tiepouo type, intended to chase away evil spirits and to counter morbid or fatal threats. According to the classical typology, the statue represents a standing figure, arms wide open. The object is covered with a superb thick crusty red patina, almost mineralized.
