ANTONIO ACQUARONI (Italy, 1800-1874). "Porta Angelica", "Porta de Ripetta", "Trinité dei Monti". Paper ink. With period passe-partout. Provenance: private collection conceived since the 1970s between London and Madrid. Measurements: 14 x 18 cm. Acquaroni was a topographical draughtsman and engraver who trained and worked in Rome. His works represent mostly views influenced by the current of Vedutism. The term "Vedutism" itself defines a pictorial genre based on the representation of places in which buildings are present, sometimes populated by a greater or lesser number of figures. The protagonist of the painting is therefore the urban landscape, always depicted according to the laws of perspective.
