India ink and watercolor for this superb original plate #27 from volume 10 of Djinn. 10th opus of the series and first episode of the cycle taking place in India, The Pavilion of Pleasures takes Jade to the Eschnapur Palace with Lady. The latter, promised to the Maharajah, is entrusted to Jade in order to initiate her to the precepts of love. This plate perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the story. The fine and precise line combined with the warm colors exacerbates the sensual and ardent atmosphere of the harems. The heroine, very present, is adorned with her most beautiful finery and magnified by her sumptuous jewelry. A splendid work! Signed. 45X32cm
