ITALIAN UNSIGNED OTTAVINO, OCTAVO SPINET POSSIBLY VENICE CIRCA 1700 The present instrument, trapezoidal in shape and colored, was additionally richly decorated with colorful chinoiseries in the form of birds and vines. When opening the lid, ocher-colored chinoiserie in the form of fancy birds and plants on a red background can be seen on the music stand. The historical jumpers are entirely without damping. The instrument has been restored and is playable. The tuning pegs appear partially original, but are bored. The restoration of the color finish was done by Edgar Jetter in spring 2000. The keyboard (C-c3 [C, D, E, F, G, A-c3 as short octave]) is possibly covered with boxwood (lower keys) and ebony (upper keys) and has a key gauge of 44.8cm. The instrument is currently covered with Delrin. The c1 length (sounding c2) is 306mm, the f1 length (sounding f2) is 232mm. The c2 length (sounding c3) is 150mm, the f2 length (sounding f3) is 119mm. The instrument has been restored and is in playing condition. The tuning pins appear to be (at least) partly original but are drilled.
