Buddha Amitabha. Bronze Qing period or earlier
Amitabha, "Immeasurable Light," is the Lord of the Western Paradise Sukhavati, where believers hope to be reborn. He is depicted meditating in the lotus position, his eyes almost closed and his hands over his lap in the gesture of meditation. The robe borders show tendrils in engraving. One-piece hollow casting. H.: 44 cm.
