A large six-panel byôbu (room divider) screen with a continuous painting in the Rinpa style depicting many types of chrysanthemums (kiku) and blue asters (nogiku).
This multi-colored painting is placed on a paper background, and the chrysanthemum flowers are painted with shell paste (gofun).
The panels are surrounded by a brown silk border, and are protected by a black lacquered wooden frame.
The screen shows signs of old repairs and wear
