Sculpture of a hunchbacked quadruped made of a mass of composite material, with a thick orange-brown earthen layer impregnated with sacrificial elements. Used as altars or performed during ceremonial dances intended to control the natural life force called nyama, the bolis were intended for and held by the genies of the bush and then transmitted to the diviners by using active amalgams from nature or organic called daliluw.
