"6000 YEARS OF RECEPTACLES" the tableware of the centuries, Michel BUTOR, 2017.
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Barbier-Mueller Museum invited the late writer and poet Michel Butor to select 100 major pieces from the museum's collections, some of which are masterpieces. Inspired by these receptacles of diverse origins, eras, cultures and materials, he wrote a poem for each of them after having, beforehand, classified them by "rays" according to the role that their forms whispered to him.
