Account of the life ("Legenda maior") of St. Francis of Assisi, written at the request of the General Chapter of the Order in 1260. Approved by the chapter of 1263 and then declared as the official text of the life of St. Francis by that of 1266, the mss of the Lives written by other authors having to be destroyed. Consisting of a prologue and fifteen chapters intended to be read in the refectory during the octave of the feast of St. Francis.
