This Lyon edition is adorned with a large copper-engraved fold-out plate representing about twenty proverbs in action. The original had appeared in 1653 under the title Les Premiers essais de proverbes.

Crack at a fold of the plate and small tear without missing restored to it. Some foxing, margins a little short. Binding restored, spine redone.
