First edition of this treatise on fortifications by Jean du Breuil (1602-1670), son of a Parisian bookseller, who practiced the same trade as his father before joining the Society of Jesus.
Frontispiece and 4 full-page figures engraved on copper by Le Pautre, and numerous engravings on copper (geometric figures and plans of fortifications) included in the pagination.
