The battle of Nördlingen, Germany, September 6, 1634,
Copper engraving, printed on paper, size at sight: 29.5 x 71 cm + frame: 47 x 88 cm. Legend pasted on the back. Extracted from Theatrum Europaeum, published in 1670, this battle was the first Swedish setback in the Thirty Years War. This important victory of the imperial and Spanish forces decided France to intervene openly in the conflict.
