Kard dagger, India, early 19th century
Single-edged straight blade of damascus steel, inlaid with gold, mainly on the heel with a floral half-lambrequin trimmed with regrained floral scrolls and two dates 1840 [?] and 1861. Flat back with a gold inlaid floral stem and a gold inlaid silk handle flanked by ivory plates.
Length : 36 cm ; gross weight : 282 g
Slight wear, trace of oxidation on the blade.
