Full cherry glazed calf with boards decorated with a romantic framing decoration on the first board stamped "Au Baron Larrey", smooth spine decorated with a romantic decoration, fillet on the edges, inner scroll. A. from the author to Larrey on the title page - discoloration on the first board with a small moisture stain - [2 ff.], 260 pp. Les guerres de César is followed by a note on the second book of Virgil's Aeneid, observations on Voltaire's tragedy of Mahomet, a note on suicide and finally the second codicil of Napoleon. All of these fragments were transcribed by Marchand on the dictation of the Emperor. Complete with the large folding plan of the bridges built on the Danube opposite the island of Lobau. Page 243 has been figured in ink. Copy in good condition.
