RELIGIOUS IMAGERY. 184 pious images and mortuary souvenirs engraved on copper and on wood, some of them enhanced with colors. 19th c. Various formats, mounted (some flying) on laid paper of an old register, 35 x 21 cm. Half-basin at the end of the XVIIIth c., silent back with two nerves. Good general condition. Binding faded. Nice set of engraved pictures, about 35 on vellum, including 1 large size Virgin and Child enhanced with colors, qqs-unes on cloth. Some rare images cut out of liturgical works. Some names of engravers : Corneille Galle, Cornelius de Boudt, J. de Wael, Cl. Duflos, Th. and Corn. van Merlen, M. Cabbaey, J. Van Sand, L. Fruytiers, etc. Subjects: nativity, Magi (e.g. 3 woodcuts with Dutch or German text, 1 print on green cloth), episodes from the life of Jesus, Virgin and Child, Passion and Crucifixion, Mater Dolorosa, etc. Several mortuary images: d'Oultremont, van der Elst, de Broglie, van de Werve, Werkyn, de Pélichy, de Theux, etc.
