AUSTRALIA. Set of about 110 postcards from 1908. Most stamps removed, several corners creased; one or two cards faded.
Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide... as well as +/- 20 maps of Australian wildlife, 1 panorama of Broken Hil (reinforced folds).
Among these maps, there is a racist map "Australia - Its Size, its Neighbours and its Future" edited by "The White Australia Post Card".
Let us also mention a photo-card of 1908 illustrated, according to the sender, the engineer Louis Legrand, of "the skeleton of a woman in the deserts east of Broken Hill. The good conservation of the skeleton will indicate that there is in the Australian deserts neither bird nor animal of any kind... to cross them one uses at Broken Hill camels... They are driven by afgans [sic]."
